Noel Butwell appointed Chief Executive of Standard Life Savings
Standard Life Aberdeen (SLA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Noel Butwell as Chief Executive Officer of Standard Life Savings.
Noel’s responsibilities encompass Standard Life’s platforms, advice and savings businesses.
The two main platforms are Wrap and Elevate. Assets under Administration across both total £57.6 billion* and over 3,500 advisers trust the platforms to help them manage the wealth of over 425,000 clients. A continual programme of investment demonstrates our commitment to the UK adviser market. This has been independently recognised with Wrap and Elevate being the only platforms in the UK (as at July 2019) to achieve AKG ‘A’ ratings for financial strength, as well as Adviser Asset Platinum, Defaqto 5 Star and Gold Service Ratings.
1825 is our wholly owned financial planning and advice business with a number of regional offices across the UK. 1825 recently announced the acquisition of Grant Thornton’s wealth advisory business significantly accelerating 1825’s ambition of creating a national digital financial planning and advice business in the UK. The acquisition will increase 1825’s AuA to £5.8 billion. We are committed to investing in technology which will enhance the advice process and we are developing digital solutions which will provide financial planning and advice in areas of the market where people don’t already have easy access to advice.
We work alongside advisers to help them grow their businesses and deliver high quality experiences for customers. Together we use our combined expertise to help more people get access to good advice. We promise to help them make good choices with their life savings. We build a life-long relationship with our customers offering products, supportive communications and access to guidance and advice.
Noel Butwell, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Life Savings, added: “I am delighted to have been appointed Chief Executive of Standard Life Savings. I have worked for SLA for 16 years and throughout this time my primary focus has been building enduring relationships with financial advisers as we work together to meet the needs of their clients. Standard Life is at the forefront of helping the UK population achieve their financial goals and through continuing to invest in the business we will build on the excellent propositions, products and services we offer.”
Noel will report to Martin Gilbert, Vice Chairman of Standard Life Aberdeen.
