Publishing our ethnicity action plan
We believe attracting and developing a diverse group of talented people will help us to better represent all of our customer and client needs globally, as well as provide innovative and creative solutions for future growth.
In October, we became one of the founding signatories of the Race at Work Charter. Today we have published our Ethnicity Action Plan. The plan details the actions we have in place and our areas of focus for the coming 12-18 months. The actions are based on feedback from a variety of conversations with our colleagues, supported by external benchmarking, and through these actions we aim to achieve progress in attracting, retaining and developing ethnic minority talent.
Rushad Abadan, Group General Counsel and our Executive Sponsor for Ethnicity, said:
Having an inclusive workplace enables us to deliver to our clients in a multicultural world and ensures all our people can progress in an environment where they are valued for who they are. We are committed to moving forward on this agenda and recently became one of the initial signatories to the UK government’s Race at Work Charter.
I am proud to be the executive sponsor of our Ethnicity Action Plan which will help us better understand and reflect customers and the global communities within which we operate, enabling us to become a more inclusive employer.
Following on from our Gender Action Plan, the Ethnicity Action Plan aims to widen our focus to ensure we continue to attract, retain and develop a more diverse talent pool in its broadest sense. There is still more to do, but we know progress will be achieved by considering diversity and inclusion in the everyday actions and decisions we take as a business.
