Partnerships and measuring impact
We regularly work with a small number of strategic partners to share best practice and drive forward action as an industry. We participate in benchmarking research and industry groups to keep informing our company wide priorities through the Diversity Project and have led the inception of, and chair, the Scottish Chapter. We work closely with the 30% Club, Women in Banking and Finance, InterInvest, Alba Alliance for LGBT+ friendly employers, the Institute of Directors, and Business in the Community.
We also have a number of regional strategic partners to work with local networks on diversity and inclusion. These include Financial Women’s Association Singapore, Women In Finance Asia (Hong Kong), and regional chapters of the 30% Club.
Awards, indices and pledges
It’s important to us to benchmark our progress and impact, and understand where to celebrate, build or change. We are signatories to a number of industry pledges that commit us to driving change across our organisation and have received external validation for our efforts through a number of global and regional indices and awards.
Women in Finance Charter
Our company was among the first signatories to the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter in 2016, pledging to increase gender balance in our senior management populations and across our industry. Read more about our progress.
Race at Work Charter
In October 2018, we were proud to become one of the founding signatories of the UK's Race at Work Charter, demonstrating our commitment to attracting ethnic minority talent and removing any barriers in order to retain and develop a diverse group of talented people. Read more about our progress
Armed Forces Covenant
We have committed to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.
Bloomberg Gender Equality Index
We have been included for the past two years in Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index. The index is a global benchmark on gender equality that was created to drive transparency and provide investors with standardised, comparative information on how companies are advancing women in the workplace.
Social Mobility Foundation’s Top Employers
For the third consecutive year we were listed in the Social Mobility Foundation’s Index of top 75 employers for social mobility. The index highlights employers who are leading the way in making changes to how they source, recruit and progress employees from different social class backgrounds.
Best Employers for Race
In 2017 we were named one of the UK's best employers for race by Business in the Community.
