Distribution is the face of Standard Life Aberdeen to our clients. Our role is to understand what our clients need and to make sure we have the solutions in place to meet those needs.
We engage with clients and prospective clients around the world, we help them invest in our products and we look after them throughout their investment journey. As part of their journey, we ensure that they have the right solutions in place, which meets their requirements.
“The firm is always commended for having a very open culture and they strongly support maintaining a work life balance, as I have found through the graduate rotational program. It amazes me how flat the structure is, which feeds into the collaborative and supportive nature of the firm allowing those early in their career to work with senior leaders.”
In order to provide our clients with the best possible service we have a range of teams that sit within Distribution, some of which include: institutional and wholesale sales teams, Client Service and Client Relationship Management, Request For Proposal (RFP) teams, and Investment Specialists to name a few.
The constantly changing markets and client needs make for a fast-paced and varied environment for candidates. Our people are dynamic, driven and care deeply about what our clients need.
Our intern programme will see you immersed in a specialist team within our function for ten weeks. This will give you insight into what we do and how we meet the needs of our clients.
Applications for summer internships 2019 within Distribution are now closed.
There’s real variety in the work your placements could cover. During your rotational placements, you'll get the practical experience to set you up for an exciting career. If there's an area that really interests you, we'll help tailor your programme so you're playing to your strengths.
There’s great support too from your stream head, placement manager and other graduates. We aim to foster development over a two year period to allow graduates to develop areas of interest into which they would like to progress after the scheme.
- Duration: Two year programme
- Structure: there are four six month rotations, three of which are within Distribution and one rotation can be out-with the stream in another business function.
- Development: mentorship, career guidance, opportunity to sit professional exams with corporate support, CPD and the on the job learning.
“During my internship and now having started the graduate programme, I have found that people within all business areas are there to support you in both your personal and professional development, and are always happy to share their insights as well as knowledge on how to best navigate the industry. As a new starter, you feel included in shaping the strategic direction of the company from day one as the business encourages a culture where your ideas and work are highly valued”
